Welcome to our Virtual Library
The mission of the Myrtle Beach Intermediate School library information center program is to provide intellectual and physical access to materials in a variety of formats; to provide instruction that fosters competence and stimulates interest in reading, learning, and using information and ideas; and to work with other educators to design learning strategies and opportunities to meet the needs of individual students.

Book Returning
We
check out books for two weeks. We do not charge overdue fines, but we
do remind students to return library books when overdue. If students
have an overdue book, we do not allow students to check out any other
books until the overdue(s) are returned.
If
you move, please try to remember to return all materials to the school,
including textbooks and library books. You may also return school
library books to either Chapin Library or the Horry County Library
system. Just put our books into the public library book drop and the
books will be returned to us. Thank you.
Library Folders
We issue each student a library folder. The folder contains a Superintendent's Reading Honor Roll log. Students are asked to write down the title and author of the books they read. Parents or teachers are asked to initial each line. Students who read twenty books and complete their logs may turn the logs in at the library during the school year. We will take pictures of students and add the pictures to our Superintendent's Reading Honor Roll bulletin board. Any student who completes his/her log before April 20th will receive a certificate from Dr. Elsberry.
Students are required to bring their library folders to library class each week. Most will need their folders to check out new books. The library folders include the student's bar code for our check out system.
Students will also use their library folders when we do various online activities, including creating accounts in Destiny, our library catalog.
